Susan Schulman: Hi, when you are nursing a baby is, most of women do not nurse right up their full time nursing. They nurse without periods and they tend to not be able to conceive while they are nursing. It's not a guaranteed birth control, but it's definitely does have an affect on child's spacing. Mothers who nurse, who aren't using birth control, can't have their babies further apart. A lot of women like this effect, it gives the baby a chance to be a baby for a while, naturally, so this is a form of natural child spacing.
