My name is Patty—I’m a four years survivor and I was 38 years old when I—one day, I was just standing in the kitchen and I felt like a little pull in my breast and I touched it. And there was a cyst in there. I went to the doctor. They couldn’t mammogram because I was supposed to be 40 so when I went back you know went to the doctor and he said, “Yes, let’s do a mammogram because there is something there.” I went to the doctor and they found two cysts. It was a two stage two. I had a mastectomy. Thank goodness, it was nothing in my lymph nodes. But I had to go through chemotherapy for four sessions. And after that, they found some cyst in my ovaries that they also had to be removed. I asked them to do a hysterectomy. And after that you know I was okay but you go up and down, sometimes you’re up and sometimes you are down, health wise but I thank God I’m here.
