My name is Cindy Dix. I am a 23-year survivor. I got cancer when I was 29. I had breast cancer. My mother died of breast cancer and her mother died of breast cancer so I sort of knew that I might have it but I didn’t think I would at 29 and then I found a lump, went to the doctor, set me for mammogram and the mammogram showed nothing. I said, “Well I want it out” and then why we cannot cut every little thing that comes up out, I said well it’s all fine somebody who will and they did and it was cancer so they did the mastectomy. I had a 16-month-old with him and a five year old and so it was not fun but made it through and now my daughter, we had genetic testing done to save and we’ll have it and it said that she would so at 25 her husband said let’s have proactive mastectomy to make sure that you don’t get it and they went and did it and she had a 16 mental at home it was already cancer. So she is a three year survivor so it’s pretty prevalent in our family. So I did my health, you have to be very careful.
