Male: You as an urologist do see bloody cancer. Correct. Is there any reason why some people get it over somebody else. Urologist: Right. Fifty percent of this people that get this bloody cancer is because they are smoking. Male: Are you kidding me. Urologist: Yes. Male: You smoked upstairs and you get a problem to see us. Urologist: Correct. Male: So that is another reason you get to give up your cigarettes. Urologist: Right. Male: If you stop smoking does this reduce your risk? Urologist: It reduces the risk. So what I tell my patient’s is, whenever they smoke they will get cancer of the bladder it is just a matter of when they are going to get it. Fifty percent of this people do not get cancer of the bladder but very aggressive ones have a history of smoking. Male: What is the youngest age you ever heard of anybody getting cancer. Urologist: About 17. Male: And it goes to my age. Urologist: It goes with the age. Male: Was that 17 a smoker? Urologist: No. There is no risk factor but he had a low grade but he still had it. Male: Is the person okay today? Urologist: Yes the person is okay today. Male: Thank god. Urologist: Now, 25% of this people have a history of exposure to chemicals. Male: What kind of chemicals? Urologist: Anyone that has to do with betanaphtalamines, benzenes, gasolines, Male: So if I work in a gasoline station. Urologist: some paints, and aniline dyes and the other 25% if you would ask me where it is more relevant in women or men 25% of this people are hair dressers. Male: Oh my god. Urologist: That work with the chemicals to dye the hair. Those hair dyes are very carcinogenic. Male: How about exterminators? Urologist: I do not know about them. It is sounds most probably that it is also a risk factor. Male: How about those who work in a chemical plant with these things? Urologist: Chemical plant? Yes because these things initially had happened with the people that used to work in the Dupon factory and those people got cytologies every three to six months. Whenever they are positive they had cystectomies and they had cancer of the bladder. Male: So the company did the right thing. Urologist: Yes. Male: Because they heard about it and they considered about it. Urologist: Correct. Male: Thank god there is some cooperation they have the right movement. Urologist: Correct.
