Audra Lowe: Making healthy choice when you grabbing a buy to eat can be really tricky and those salad choices could be killing your diet, Rhiannon with the nutritionist who’s breaking down all the best salads to choose on the go. Rhiannon Ally: Nutritionist and Author of the O2 Diet Keri Glassman is here to show us the smart choices to make when buying a salad in our favorite restaurants. Shops more and put of all these salads to the test and will going to show you the ones that not only taste great but are healthy too. Important to note Keri none of all these salads are created equal? Keri Glassman: Right, exactly. You can go into McDonald for example and order a salad that’s double the amount of calories from just ordering a plain old burger. But that doesn’t mean we should for goes salad for burgers all the time. Thankfully for us there are healthy salad options that all of our favorite fast food restaurants. Rhiannon Ally: And one of our favorites is Panero, they have so many great salads so many great sandwiches but some of them seem kind of high in calories. The first we have here is actually the barbeque chop chicken salad, 350 calories. Keri Glassman: Yes, but that is not include the dressing. Tasters, tasters did say that because of that barbeque sauce you’re actually don’t even need the dressing. Rhiannon Ally: The second one on the border, this one really surprises me this is the Citrus Chiptole Chicken Salad and its 290 calories with the dressing. Keri Glassman: Exactly, that’s why that one is one of my favorite because it’s dress you really don’t like depriving yourself and it also has 11 grams of fiber and it has a wonderful crunch from the Hikama in there and you also getting a little bit of vitamin C from the orange slices and then some— a nice array of vegetables obviously the raw main lettuce and also the tomatoes in there so that’s one is one of my favorites too. Rhiannon Ally: Very healthy, the third one is another Panero salad, this one is the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad with crispy one tons on almonds. Keri Glassman: What I suggest here is definitely saves some calories and ditch those crispy one tons just not worth those calories. Rhiannon Ally: Leave the almond though. Keri Glassman: Exactly leave the almonds you are going t get some vitamin E and also those almonds are important for providing some satiety to help keep you full, they’re satisfying with the crunch so just skip the one tons keep the almonds. Rhiannon Ally: Can we put the dressing on this one? Keri Glassman: What I would see is go for half, 90 calories for that dressing so we’re having half of it your just adding 45 more calories. Rhiannon Ally: Not bad, next salad we have is the also from Panero Fuji Apple Chicken Salad with Pecans no dressing. Keri Glassman: What I love about this one is the pecans add such a nice sort of sweet almost nutty flavor so I love pecans; they’re also high in antioxidants pecans. I like the apples but 19 grams of fat in salad. Rhiannon Ally: And 370 calories. Keri Glassman: So even though the calories, you have 370 were sneaking up there all of the sudden you add the dressing you’re really getting those calories and those 90 grams of fat I’m not a huge fan of. Rhiannon Ally: The next salad we have is from Wendy, so this one are quick alternative if you’re just dashing out for launch. This is the Chicken Caesar Salad with grilled chicken important to note and its only 240 calories. Keri Glassman: Which is excellent but if you add the dressing you’re going to double the calories. So it’s an excellent choice for 240 but absolutely skips the dressing or at least go for half of it. Rhiannon Ally: Okay, next salad we have is McDonald, this one is the Premium Southwest Salad with grilled chicken its 320 calories. Keri Glassman: Yeah, great option and note the crispy chicken salad it has 530 calories so your getting almost the same exact type of a flavor, really satisfying that same cra
