Victoria: Lori, hi. Lori Kruk: Victoria good morning! Welcome to Elbow Beach. Victoria: Thank you so much. Today is my very first day in Bermuda, so what can you tell about where I am and what I’m going to experience today? Lori Kruk: Where at Elbow Beach Hotel, Mandarin Oriental does manage this. Elbow Beach is right down the pathway. It is absolutely stunning and we are located in Paget Parish, so right in the middle of Bermuda. Our philosophy is to invite our guest make them feel very warm and welcome, and when they leave we want them to feel very balanced, enjoy the day mind, body and soul. It’s not just about pampering. We want their soul to feel good as well as their body. So let’s go begin your spa journey shall we? Victoria: Sounds good. What a beautiful setting Lori, just a lovely place to come to work every day. Lori Kruk: It is. It’s absolutely fantastic. Victoria: These flowers are so pretty. Lori Kruk: Thank you. We get this right from properties so we can refresh them at any point in time. We’re trying to create that very tranquil serene feeling as you enter almost like a temple. You’ll notice right away the smell as well. A lot of aroma therapy. We’re actually affiliated with Mandarin Oriental hotel group. We just launched brand new treatments and we’re very excited about them. Bloom which is fire, a weaken wood, reflect which is water, release which is metal and flourish which is Earth. Victoria: So how do you work out which element goes with which client? Lori Kruk: So upon your welcoming ritual, what happens is we’ll give you diagnostic form based on your answers that will determine one or two elements. And then when you enter into the spa area, the therapist will do a consult with you between those three elements. Our spa suites are very private, they’re completely personalized and customized. Victoria: So there is no communal changing area? Lori Kruk: None at all. Everything is completely private and that way the guest feels comfortable and again the experience isn’t rushed. It’s how long they choose it to be. Honey: Victoria. Victoria: Hi. Honey: Hi, I’m Honey. Nice to meet you Victoria Victoria: Nice to meet you too. Lori Kruk: The ritual begins with a foot bath and then you do have a scrub with pineapple juice, lemon and lime. We also add oranges. Then after you enjoy while you're bathing and then it’s a full body head to toe massage. The pink sand comes right from Elbow Beach. It’s very, very native to Bermuda so we use it in our scrubs. We combine it with some essential oils and then we scrub you from head to toe to exfoliate and you can actually see the pink grains on your skin. It’s lovely. Honey: It’s a natural exfoliant that we take from our beach and we purify it. It’s going to take away all of the dead skin cells and leave your skin really nice and smooth.
