Melanie Raposo: Hi everybody and I'm Melanie Raposo, and welcome to mommy's minute, if you are expecting a boy you may need to consider the possibility of having your little men circumcised. Circumcision is the medical procedure involving and moving the babies fore skins from the penis two to 3 days after birth. The whole procedure takes about 10-15 minutes and the wound usually heals within 7-10 days. Many people opt for circumcision for religious reasons personal preference and hygiene reasons. Some possible benefits include reducing the risk of STD's urinary tract infections and penal cancer. Some possible risks include bleeding infection and penal abnormalities. When deciding whether to have your son circumcised its important to weight the benefits and the risks and also the talk to your doctor and other family members to help make the best possible decision for your son.
