Typically, physical therapy is something that begins soon after the operation. For my patients, this is something that begins the next day but can be modified by your physician to what they feel is best for you. Range and motion is a key element after this operation and is essential to prevent stiffness. This is something that you will work on very hard with your physical therapist right away to try to get as much range and motion as possible within the first few weeks after the operation.
