Why did you become a Gastroenterologist? Dr. Sharmila Anandasabapathy: It's a nice balance of pathophysiology procedures, so it's something that really peaked my interest I have a very strong interest in oncology actually and in cancer prevention. And this is the one of the most rapidly raising cancers in the United States. Where it is actually a prevalent and about one to two percent of the American population and it's estimated and esophageal adenocarcinoma has under gone about three hundred to four hundred X increase over the last three to four decades. I think it makes both the clinical work as well as the research very exciting.
