Today we're answering questions about weight loss and our topic today is the role of bariatric surgery in weight loss. Male Speaker: What is that bariatric surgery? Dr. William McCarthy: Bariatric Surgery is a technique where a surgeon makes a change in the body's anatomy that will bring about weight loss. There are different types of bariatric surgery and what we can do is to help a person who may not be able to lose weight any other way or has medical problems that need to be treated but cant be by diet alone or exercise and/or combination or even medications and sure we may be the only answer.
