Bariatric Support Groups at the Tri-City Regional Bariatric Program Once a month we have seminars which we usually combine with a support group and usually one of my old patients wants a support group so they can relate to the patients. Support groups are important part of the patient experience because all these procedures can give you the best results in combination with lifestyle modification. That’s what we call it. So as our patients comes to a support group once a month, they get reminded to stay on track, to continue eating healthy, to continue being active and basically that’s what support group does. If they have any question, they can ask some other patients. And again, my program coordinator can answer a lot of questions because they have talked to thousands to patients. So, we recommend it highly. Unfortunately, not everybody can attend it. But, I will recommend it as much as they can to attend the support groups. Again, they will also see me in a regular basis. I see all my patients every three months for the first year and we emphasize diet modification, that behavior modification to make sure they have good results following the surgery.
