Banana Roll Liposuction Procedure Results Dr. Drew Ordon: Sir Anthony Youn and his patient Victoria are here with us today. Very nice look, nice—So, let’s take a look at Victoria’s picture how she looked before surgery. Not too bad, you actually were in pretty good shape and that’s a good candidate for liposuction and in this case, you did more that just your banana rolls, right? Dr. Anthony Youn: I took care of her little saddlebag too. Dr. Drew Ordon: I saw it by the amount you removed. And let’s take a look at Victoria after her surgery; big difference. Victoria: Yeah. Dr. Drew Ordon: So that’s -- Dr. Anthony Youn: No banana rolls. Dr. Drew Ordon: That’s about a liter, about a—of fat later, correct? Dr. Anthony Youn: Exactly, yup. Dr. Drew Ordon: And you’re just one month after surgery, right? Victoria: Yeah. Dr. Drew Ordon: And how do you feel? Victoria: I feel great. That’s the first time I saw the before and after and it does really -- Dr. Drew Ordon: Pretty good, right? Victoria: And that was about three weeks after I think, two or three weeks after? Dr. Anthony Youn: Yeah, about three weeks. So, she’s actually had a few weeks now. We’ve done some smoothing treatments. Victoria: And it looks better. Dr. Anthony Youn: Fantastic. Oh yeah. She’s doing great. Victoria: And recovery was easy. Dr. Drew Ordon: And so, tell us what you did, doctor. Dr. Anthony Youn: Well, it’s actually a pretty simple procedure for the patient to undergo. So, basically we take the banana roll area, numb it up and use a little liposuction cannula like this and just suck it out. Within a few minutes, banana roll’s gone. But what a lot of people don’t realize it’s actually complicated for the surgeons as I’m sure you know. So, the back of the thigh actually has a subcutaneous layer of fat. It’s like a column that holds up the buttocks, kind of like you have -- if you’re making a house, okay. Now, what happens however if you liposuction that and you over liposuction, I’m sure you’re seeing, what happens is that column is gets weaker and the buttocks starts to drop and it becomes a soggy buttock. Dr. Drew Ordon: You know we’re on the subject of fat fixes today and you were the ideal candidate. You really were not overweight; you had those discreet areas of fat that didn’t respond to diet and exercise. Victoria: Right, right. Dr. Drew Ordon: That made her a good surgical candidate. Dr. Anthony Youn: And it’s crazy because you get all these women who come in and they take great care of themselves and they exercise, they eat well. Yet, they just have these areas that they just can’t get rid off and the banana roll’s one of them and we think that it’s just hereditary. If you have banana roll, it’s possible your mom has one, your grandma probably had one and maybe your great, great, great grandmother had one too. Dr. Drew Ordon: Not to substitute for diet and exercise but if they haven’t responded, it does work. This fat’s permanently gone. So, you stay the stable weight, the bananas are gone. Thank you, Doctor Youn. Dr. Anthony Youn: Thank you very much. Dr. Drew Ordon: Thank you, Victoria Victoria: Thank you. Dr. Drew Ordon: Nice job.
