Balancing Your Diet Cheryl Forberg Registered Dietician Hi I’m Cheryl Forberg prevention adviser and nutritionist for the Biggest Loser. The average American diet is out of balance. It’s full up on healthy foods and note enough nutritious choices. You may not even be aware your diet is falling short. Did you know that most of us get less than one serving of fruit but we need at least two or that we should be in more than twice as many vegetables as we usually have and we only eat a 3rd of the whole grains that we should have while we eat far to many refined grains and we consume an equivalent of 30 teaspoons of sugar that’s 3 times the amount a healthy diet should include besides most of the sugar we eat come from fresh fruit or other healthy choices. Following these guidelines will help balance your diet and keep you healthy.
