Hi! I am Kim Taylor DiLeva and today we wanted to teach you how to sign Twinkle, Twinkle little star. This is of course a song that you're probably already singing with your baby or toddler and so it is a great one for me to show you how to sign along with. As you're already singing it, so you might as well add some signs it so that your child can learn those signs and of course, it will make singing that song a lot more fun as well. So this is twinkle. It's actually sign for shine in American Sign language but this is going to be our sign for twinkle. You start down low and then you wiggle your fingers as you come out. So this is twinkle, twinkle little star. For star, you take your pointers and take turn pointing up to the sky. Star. Let's do just that part. Twinkle, twinkle little star. And then wonder you make circles with your pointer finger up on your forehead. How I wonder what you are. Then for Up above, you would lay your hands flat on top of each other and then the one on top is going to come up above. Up above. So let's do just that part so far. Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what you are Up above -- this is world. Now this is the W in sign language. Hold your pinky and with your thumb and your three fingers in the middle are sticking up. So this is the W in sign language. You start with them stacked on top of each other and then the one on top comes forward down around and lay that up on top. So this is the sign for world. It goes down around down in forward, and then around, lay and back up on top, world. Up above the world so high Like a diamond, point to your diamond. I have also seen people do the letter D by the finger which you can point to your diamond if you got one there. Like a diamond in the sky. Show the sky up above you. Let's do just that part. Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what you are Up above the world so high Like a diamond in the sky. Now we're back to twinkle. Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what you are. Notice I don't sign every single word and we're picking up the key words, the most important words in the sentence and those are the ones that we're signing. Let's sing and sign it through one more time together so that you got it. And then tonight when you sing it to your baby, you can go ahead and start signing along. And then pretty soon, before you know they will be singing and signing it along with you as well. So that goes -- Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what you are Up above the world so high Like a diamond in the sky Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what you are.
