Veronica: Parents want nothing, but the best for their little ones. Hi! I am Veronica from watchmojo.com, and today, we are looking at products that are safe practical and accessible. So recently, they have been a lot of health concerns because of the BPA found in baby products. Can you tell us about products that don't have this? Joseph Gallo: We have BPA free plastic bottles of course, and we have glass bottles. Not one is better than the other. For example, here, in my hand I have BPA free non-drip bottles, with a very flow nipple. So as oppose to the free flow or the fast flow nipple and the slow flow nipple, this will allow the child to determine how much he or she wants to take out. We have a make available, by the name of chicco, they are glass bottles, they are shattered resistant and they are resistant to sudden temperature changes. So you can go from hot to cold. And this is specifically for mom, who still wants to avoid plastic, which is an understandable choice. Veronica: We all know, as kids get older, they start suffering from teething. Is there anyway to ease that pain? Joseph Gallo: Traditionally moms have gone into the stores, the pharmacy, grocery stores and found a standard ring teether. The older style ones, usually contain water and of course, to be very safe, you put them in the fridge, they cool the gums. The problem is the duration. We have two products here available. One is a set of keys and the other is thump, and it's also available in a pacifier. They contain a non-toxic gel called Pur ice, they'll say, colder for a longer period of time. Veronica: Is there a way your child can enjoy a nutritious snack? Joseph Gallo: We have a products here called the nibbler. You put in fruit or vegetables, give it to the child and the child will run around while chewing on it. It allows the child to gain those nutrients and you can give the child a healthy snack as oppose to popsicle or a fugical. Veronica: So once the baby leaves the hospital, is there any product that makes it easier to administer his medicine? Joseph Gallo: Giving medicine to a child can be sometimes a very difficult task. You got to fight with them, they are not feeling well. And Nuby here, has a medical kit available. You have a medi-nurser here, which comes with a nipple, that will allow you at least to feed the child with a bottle or what perceives to be a bottle, easier for the child. You have syringes here, a measuring cup and as well, for a nasal congestion and ear blockage, you have a nasal aspirator with an ear syringe. So you get everything sort of which to take care for the baby, and when the baby comes home and for later years. Veronica: When it's time for your baby to start eating hot food. Is there anyway to make sure, that the food is not to hot? Joseph Gallo: We have hot safe spoons available again, from Nuby. If the food is too hot, the spoon actually changes color to white to indicate that the food is too hot. So this could reassure a mom, that the food might be a little too hot so just let it cool for a while.
