Baby Reactions During Home Birth One of the differences that I have noticed is the babies when they are born at home, they are very calm right after they are born and they are taking everything in, in the environment and what’s around them and who is around them and responding to voices. It’s a little bit more quiet sometimes at home so you can kind of see those nuances. Baby and mom are together so there isn’t any separation. They are together from the moment they are born and then forward there’s about a two hour time period where the baby has a lot of interaction and that they are very alert and then they kind of go to sleep for a little while, because it’s a hard trip there into the world.
