What advice do you have for women who avoid sexual activities because they have urinary incontinence? Dr. Eilber: Well in terms of incontinence, many women avoid sexual activity because they are afraid that they are going to have incontinence on their partner. So I strongly encourage women who are avoiding sexual activity because of that to have their incontinence treated. I have a patient in particular who avoids certain sexual positions which are the only positions she really derives pleasure from, but she becomes incontinent when she does these positions. So she is finally going to get her gynecologist to treat it so that she can get her life back.
