First of all they’re delicious, they’re smooth and creamy and I wan to eat this right now. Secondn of all avocados are rich in good fats important to a healthy diet. Ruth Carey: (Resident Dietician) Avocadoes are really high in mono and saturated fats which are health fat that helps us to lower our cholesterol so it’s very cardio protective it has a great flavor to that fills you up. It’s the kind of fat we want to have in our diet. Kelly: Avocado also contains 81 micrograms of the carotenoid lutein. The antioxidant which study suggest promotes healthy vision. It’s like this avocado is all good news like Ruth said it’s rich in good fat, folate and it can be prepared in several ways, right Ruth. Ruth: Also avocados are very high in potassium and potassium is important for helping us control our blood pressure so many times people just think of bananas for potassium but it’s actually even higher in the avocado. Kelly: I love fresh organic avocado on salads or sandwiches and if you haven’t tried it on toast forget about it, it tastes great.
