There are, and these have been developed largely over the last ten years or so. These are procedures that have been designed to be an alternative to an excisional hemorrhoidectomy. The excisional hemorrhoidectomy is traditionally been used for more advanced hemorrhoid symptoms and changes in the hemorrhoid tissue where the hemorrhoids are cut out. By cutting them out, you’re cutting across very sensitive skin, and that can cause for a painful and somewhat prolonged recovery in the neighborhood of close to a month.
