In behalf of tvlesson.com, this is Rachel Richardson, a licensed nutritionist with nutrisolution.com. In this clip, I’m going to show you how to prepare an awesome anti aging salad. And so one of the big principles with anti aging, it has to do with anti oxidants. And actually anti oxidants come from your mostly from you fruits and vegetables. And every different class of anti oxidants is corresponding with different colors of the food rainbow. And so you might have heard of that all theory about you know eating different colors on a plate, and actually there some validity to that. So making an anti aging salad which can also be applied for any health condition and for any body who wants good health we’ll start with getting all different colors on to your plate. So here I have sort of my pre chopped vegetables, and I just wanted to just kind of the different colors and the different nutritional properties. So we’ve got our green romaine lettuce here and I’ll go start plating up our salad and make sure you use a lot of lettuce because this is you know actually where some of your carbohydrates are coming from and your rapids, so you wanted to start with a lot of that stuff. You know you can add then some of your carrots, your orange carrots and get those on there. You definitely want to add your purple cabbage where you can from more anti oxidants. You got some red peppers here, you can add other types of peppers if you’d like. Of course tomatoes, the salad isn’t a salad for me without some tomatoes and then I’ve got some avocados, which have vitamin E and other antioxidant as well as some others essential fatty acid good for the skin, the brain, the hormone system. and then a couple other things that I’m going to be adding to my salad for flavor are some basil. I love different herb that’s why I have some fresh basil or cilantro or oregano or whatever you have in the house. We set this down here and then I love adding a little bit of fresh garlic, which also has some powerful anti oxidant as well as anti microbial property to help with your immune function and infections. And then other toppers that I have that going to help balance out the salad are some nuts, I’ve got some slivered almonds here and this are rich in minerals and specially calcium and magnesium and fiber. and then the last thing is making sure you got some protein’s want to add this but this is just some healthy tune up salad, salmon salad is also great. Some oil, this is Peruvian senchi oil and some apple cider vinegar and you’re set to go with the super awesome high anti oxidant salad.
