Anti-Aging Yoga Move - Downward-Facing Dog If you want to stay young, exercise maybe the answer and study after study, regular workouts had been proven to insulate you from heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, stroke and diabetes. Exercise lowers blood pressure, reduces body fat, raises good cholesterol, lowers bad cholesterol, improves blood flow, keeps intestines and the colon healthy, and regulates key hormones. The best anti-aging routine includes a mix of cardio to condition your heart. Strength training for your muscles and bones and yoga to help you relax in de-stress, to get start with yoga try the downward facing dog. Start on all fours then curl the toes under lifting your sitting bones through the ceiling behind you and keeping your knees slightly bent and heels away from the floor, exhale, pedaling the heels down as you straighten your knees and stretch your heels toward the ground. Keep your arms firm and press the basis of the index finger into the floor activating your inner arms. Firm your shoulder blades against your back, drying them down towards the tailbone. Keep your head between your upper arms. Don’t let it hang. Hold for about one to three minutes and then relax into child’s pose. Check back tomorrow for another 60-seconds solution.
