When I first went to see Dr. Magtibay and his team I really walked in out of the blue. I had never been to the Mayo Clinic before. I had heard of it but. what I did really like about the Mayo Clinic was the fact that I called the main number and they put me directly in touch with the person I needed to speak with and they really took care of me from there. I hadn’t spent a lot of time in doctor’s offices, in hospitals before so I was rather new at this. The only other procedure I had had before was a c-section, my first son. So I really felt very comfortable. They were so accommodating, very nice, they answered my questions, addressed by concerns, and really made me comfortable going into this procedure because it was a risky procedure. I saw Dr. Magtibay. He explained what he was going to do, very confident that he could help me, explained in detail what he was going to do and made me feel very comfortable with the procedure. He was even very accommodating regarding my insurance. I had some insurance issues. He offered to write a letter to the insurance company and help work with me on the insurance aspects as well. He had me get an MRI. I brought that in so we could see the MRI. We sat down in his office. He showed me the MRI, explained to me where the mass was, how it was taking up a big space in my abdomen and exactly what they were going to do. So we set the surgery date, went in there and really they held my hand through the entire procedure. I appreciated Dr. Magtibay’s confidence and his understanding. His understanding in that I wasn’t familiar with a lot of hospital procedures and I wasn’t really comfortable being in a hospital and having surgery, and his confidence in his work and his confidence in the end-result, which turned out wonderfully. I now have a second baby who is ten months. We conceived about nine or ten months after the myomectomy. It really made me feel good going in. If I had to describe Dr. Magtibay to another woman I would describe him as being calm, confident, warm, he created really a sense of peace in me going into this procedure and I really felt okay being under his care.
