Raena Morgan: Hi, I’m Raena Morgan with iHealthTube. We are visiting with Dr. Barbara Hendel who is the co-author of Water and Salt: The Essence of Life. And she’s talking to us about how salt impacts on our daily diets. Could you tell us what the difference is between natural Himalayan crystal salt, which we have here, and ordinary table salt? Dr. Barbara Hendel: Yes, I can. Raena Morgan: Would you like to tell? Dr. Barbara Hendel: Yes. This is a lot to tell. Yes, it’s a really different because the Himalayan Crystal salt is natural salt, and it contains all the elements found in the primal ocean. The primal ocean has all elements found in our planet. Normal cooking salt is only two elements. This is sodium chloride, [and other] chemical substances that [prevents it from clumping as you shake it out]. But it’s a chemical thing and the Himalayan Crystal salt is pure, natural salt. And this is good for our health, and it doesn’t hurt or burn like chemical salt. Raena Morgan: Does it contain minerals, lots of minerals that ordinary salt does not? Dr. Barbara Hendel: It contains lots of minerals and the point is that the combination of all the minerals is very similar to the combination of minerals in our body. Raena Morgan: Oh really? Dr. Barbara Hendel: Yes. Raena Morgan: Okay, so the combination is very similar. Dr. Barbara Hendel: It’s very similar because we come from the ocean, and therefore we took the salt with us in our blood, tears, and the fluid in the womb. Raena Morgan: In the womb… Dr. Barbara Hendel: The womb, yes. Where the babies are in – Raena Morgan: Incubated. Dr. Barbara Hendel: Yes and it is like the primal ocean. We took it with us, in us. Raena Morgan: The salt accomplishes many things throughout our bodies. Dr. Barbara Hendel: Yes, it’s not only sodium and chloride. It’s about 84 minerals in this salt. Raena Morgan: Really? That many? Dr. Barbara Hendel: This all inside. An even if you can’t prove in a biochemical way, you can find it in a biophysical way because every substance has its own vibration. And you can measure this vibration to see the minerals in it. Raena Morgan: Okay, okay. Well, one final question before we go, why is salt refined? Dr. Barbara Hendel: Well, this is a good question – Raena Morgan: Good question… yeah… okay. Dr. Barbara Hendel: When the industrial development [began] they needed salt for making plastic, soaps, [and other items], 97% of all the salt produced [is for] industry, and not for cooking, or eating. So we have this salt because [industry] needs the salt refined. [It’s not for] our health. Raena Morgan: No one takes care of our health because it’s commercial purposes. Dr. Barbara Hendel: Yes. It’s a commercial purpose. Raena Morgan: And this is pure Himalayan… Dr. Barbara Hendel: This is a pure salt with all its elements our body needs and this is a combination [that’s similar to the mineral combination in our bodies], therefore it’s good for our health. Raena Morgan: Okay, well thank you Dr. Hendel. I’m Raena Morgan. We’ve been visiting with Dr. Barbara Hendel who is the co-author of Water and Salt: The Essence of Life. If you would like to know more about Dr. Hendel’s, information about how salt and water impact our bodies, you can visit the iHealthTube website. Thank you.
