Alternative Treatments to Relieve Stress Headaches Travis: I want to talk about one of the most common ailments we almost get them, headaches. 90% of us get headaches. Up to 80% of those are called tension headaches. Usually often times they come from stress and we clench our jaw, we do not even realize it, the muscles in our neck, in our scalp contract and they cause pain. Well, here is a simple little trick. Try placing a pencil between your mouth to relax your jaw but you do not bite down on, just rest it there. Jim: How’d you know I have a headache? Lisa: Because you had the pat Jim, for the too long. Travis: So, we all continue to do that and now, take migraines as an example. Migraines are thought to at least partially be caused by dilated blood vessels. Some are outside your scalp and the temporal is one of those. Well, one possibility, you can try to tie a cloth around your head -- Lisa: Is that why we have these things? Jim: You got to tie it really tightly, right? Travis: And you got to make it pretty tight. Yours is pretty bling there Lisa. Lisa: I am pretty psychedelic here. Female: That’s a hot look. Drew: Jim, can I have a California roll? Jim: Right away. Travis: This is how I like it when I see headache is a chief complaint and you are actually going to the room like this. Female: And the patient goes running for lives. Travis: Do not worry, I will take care of you. Jim: I know what exactly -- you need a pack of pencils and a do-rag then you’re going to be better. Try to write a prescription for that. Lisa: You’re like coordinated with -- Female: I know. Travis: So, something that you can try. Obviously, there are stronger medications available; talk to your doctor about them but hey, there is no harm in trying to the do-rag, right? Jim: Headache is gone. Lisa: There you go. Jim: I feel good.
