Advocating for Your Health as a Dialysis Patient - Sharon's Story Sharon: I would say that in order to understand what you’re going to be going through or understand what your feelings maybe, I would think it would be important to educate yourself. Read upon it, talk to people, talk to those that may already be on it. In most in-center dialysis centers, they have a social worker. It is a team that comes together to help you, even in home hemodialysis, there is a team that comes together to help. I would say that get as much information on it as you can. There’s going to be fears but those fears can be diminished and be alleviated.
