Acupressure relief for common problems When you are in the grits of a nasty tension headache or suffering from menstrual cramps or just need an energy boost, try some hands on healing techniques like acupressure. By pressing or massaging a specific part of the body, it can help to relieve pain and reduce tension. Here are some sports to get you started. You got a tension headache. You want to focus on a spot on your hand right between the index finger and the thumb. Close your fingers and there’s amount of flesh. You want to place your thumb on that, open the fingers and press into that spot. You should feel some discomfort, but not intolerable pain. Pull that for about 30 seconds and then release. You can do this as often as needed to get some relief from those headaches. If you are suffering from menstrual cramps, the point you want to focus on is on your lower leg. It’s about three fingers width above your ankle, take the other hand and press on that spot. You should notice some discomfort when you press on these spots or you may need to adjust to get the right spot. Press on that for about six seconds and then release for two seconds. You want to do this for about five minutes on each leg, and you should notice a relief from that time. When you need a boost of energy, you want to focus on your ears. Start at your earlobes with your thumb and index finger and gently rub moving your fingers along the rim of your ear all the way to the top and then back down again. Continue doing this for about 30 seconds and you should be ready to go.
