Activities You Should Avoid After Lap Band Surgery We tell people not to do a lot of sit-ups for the first month after a LAP-BAND procedure. Besides the sit-up or abdominal crunches, there really is no other physical restriction with the LAP-BAND. So people are back to work and they are exercising, there are people golfing usually two or three days after, without any discomfort. We’ve had people do yoga and we just tell people to take it easy on the abdominal part because there is a port that’s being, basically stabilized and healing within the abdominal wall.
