Male Speaker: Time now for a Health for Life minute. Female Speaker: Are you nervous about going to the hospital, you are not alone. But there are ways to help you overcome your anxiety. Colleen Conway-Welch: You can always call the hospital and say that you are not a patient but you would like to know more about the hospital and could a volunteer take you through on a mini tour. Female Speaker: Or go and visit someone in the hospital and observe the routine. Colleen Conway-Welch: If you are visiting someone, spend a little bit of time, looking at the particular unit and watching the doctors and nurses and getting a sense as a visitor of what the routine is. Female Speaker: Knowing a little about the hospital before hand can help you be less nervous and more calm during your stay.
