

Yellow eyes refers to the condition of the whites of the eyes having a yellowish color.
Scleral jaundice, yellow eyes, yellow sclera.
Yellow eyes is a manifestation of jaundice which is caused by excess bilirubin in the blood stream. Bilirubin is a byproduct of red blood cells, normally broken down in the liver when they become a waste products. Though not dangerous in and of itself, yellow eyes can be a sign of underlying disease.
A complete history and physical examination will be necessary and liver function studies will likely be needed. All jaundice associated conditions require medical diagnosis and treatment. The treatment will depend on the underlying condition.
Any time yellow eyes are present.
