Medical Specialist: Pediatric Otolaryngology (Pediatric ENT)

Otolaryngologists are also called Ear, Nose and Throat—or ENT—specialists. They are doctors who have five years of additional training in both medicine and surgery of the ears, nose and throat as well as related structures of the head and neck. Pediatric ENTs receive one to two additional years of fellowship training in the subspecialty of pediatric otolaryngology. They are qualified to treat children with:

• Sinusitis
• Down’s syndrome
• Ear infections
• Swimmer’s ear
• Hearing loss
• Dizziness
• Airway problems
• Asthma
• Allergies
• Foreign body obstructions
• Birth defects of the head and neck
• Developmental delays
