ANNOUNCER: Deep brain stimulation is a promising but selective procedure. Used effectively, it has proven to ameliorate advanced symptoms of Parkinson's. But like any method, patients considering this strategy to fight Parkinson's need to research the efficacy of the procedure.

BLAIR FORD, MD: People ask, "How long with the deep brain stimulation work?" And the answer is unknown, but some of the cases that are the longest out are several years now. We have followed patients for three or four years who continue to do well.
