Combining ground turkey and beef lowers the fat without losing the taste. For perfectly flat burgers, use your thumb to make a small indentation in the center of each burger before grilling.
3/4 pound (80/20) ground beef
3/4 pound ground turkey
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Using your hands, gently combine all ingredients, being careful to not overwork the meat. Divide the meat into 6 equal portions, and shape each portion into a 4-inch wide patty. Gently press an indentation in center of each patty.
Prepare grill for medium-high direct heat. Place burgers on clean grill grate, and grill 3 minutes per side, turning once, for medium-rare to medium.
Remove from grill and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
