Aerospace medicine is a field within the specialty of Medical Practice and Preventive Medicine. Preventive Medicine Specialists promote, protect and maintain the health of populations by preventing disease and death. They are experts in epidemiology; environmental and occupational medicine; planning and evaluation of health services; and management of health-management organizations. Aerospace-medicine practitioners provide occupational-health services to the aerospace industry, supporting the health, safety and welfare of crew and passengers of aerospace vehicles.
