Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation, or IBS-C, affects more than 13 million Americans. It often occurs in late adolescence or early adult life.

For those with IBS-C, the primary symptoms are constipation and less frequent or hard stools. Other symptoms include abdominal pain as well as episodes of gas and bloating. These symptoms can be managed and controlled through medications and home remedies.
