AMP UP THE AVOCADO

Next time you’re making a morning smoothie, go ahead and throw in half of an avocado. Just like other typical smoothie ingredients like berries and bananas, avocados are fruits with a number of health benefits. They’re rich in healthy fats and fiber, as well as vitamin B-6 and folate.

Vitamin B-6 and folate are water-soluble vitamins that our body requires on a daily basis. Together, these vitamins protect the heart from elevated homocysteine levels. The dynamic duo can also help protect against anemia, a common condition associated with hypothyroidism that causes fatigue and poor circulation.

So besides being a creamy addition to your smoothie, avocados can help boost energy, regulate blood flow, and protect your heart.
