Eczema Risk Factors

There are a number of factors that contribute to or increase your risk of acquiring the eczema. The risk factors for eczema include:

Asthma and Hay Fever

Eczema is more common in children who suffer from asthma and/or hayfever or who develop these conditions later, usually before the age of 30, according to the National Eczema Association. This association further supports the link between eczema and an imbalanced immune system.

Family History

People with family members who have eczema are at increased risk of developing the disease when compared to people from families without a history of eczema.
