Drug Allergy Risk Factors

An allergic reaction to a drug can happen to anyone, but there are some risk factors that may add to your chances of having a drug allergy:

• Having one or more other allergies
• Taking a drug that is of the same class or is otherwise similar to one that caused a previous allergic reaction
• Having another health condition that weakens your immune system
• Having a previous, even if mild, allergic reaction to the same drug
