Our annual Patient Voices Contest, launched in 2012, is the latest in our continued efforts to push the envelope on diabetes innovation, by “crowdsourcing patient needs.”
Each year, we ask empowered PWDs (people with diabetes) everywhere to tell us about their most pressing challenges and unmet needs through brief essays and visual content.
The top 10 entrants are selected to receive an “e-Patient Scholarship” to attend our DiabetesMine Innovation Summit that takes place in Northern California each Fall. These winners act as “delegates” for the patient community, expressing our needs and desires to the Powers That Be: decision-makers in pharma, healthcare, technology design, medical device regulation, software and app development, national advocacy groups and more.
Last year, our contest focused on “diabetes life hacks” — simple tricks to make life with this perplexing illness easier or better in some practical way.
We were thrilled by, and appreciative of, the ingenuity of the many ideas that came in! Watch the video below to see for yourself.
