Professional Cellist and Private Teacher
My business is playing and teaching private cello lessons. I knew I wanted to be a music teacher and play cello in a professional orchestra since the age of 10.
I play music for a living—and not just in an orchestra. I also play at wedding ceremonies and parties, and I even record and perform with local bands! I currently teach violin and cello in several local music schools and in low-income public schools with a non-profit organization.
I try not to let Crohn’s interfere with traveling for gigs or allow the daily pain and discomfort to stop me from teaching. I’m blessed to be able to make a living doing what I love and still be able to afford my treatment, which keeps flare-ups under control and surgeries to a minimum.
