1. Brown Sugar & Oatmeal Scrub
Lackluster skin needs to be shed to reveal a rosy glow. Depending on your skin type, it’s a good idea to exfoliate a few times a week to remove dead skin cells.
While there are expensive devices and a variety of products on the shelves, nature has provided us with exfoliating methods to get fresh-looking complexions.
Apart from its intoxicating smell, brown sugar works well in a body scrub since its small grains are not too harsh yet help exfoliate dead skin. Natural and gentle, oatmeal offers a non-irritating approach to glowing skin.
Whip up an invigorating brown sugar-oatmeal scrub:
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. ground oatmeal
- ¼ cup olive oil (or almond oil)
2. Lemon
Another tip for tackling extra dry spots, like elbows, is to soften rough areas with a lemon wedge. The acid in the lemon helps to soothe roughness. You can even add a tablespoon of lemon juice to your body scrub to benefit from the antiseptic properties of the lemon.
3. Strawberries Exfoliating/Moisturizing Solution
Thanks to their natural acids, strawberries offer a two-in-one exfoliation/moisturizing solution. Combined with a few other ingredients, you can make your own strawberry exfoliant at home to rejuvenate tired hands or feet.
- 4-6 strawberries
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
Blend all the ingredients well and refrigerate.
