Contest Rules and Regulations
No purchase necessary. Only one entry per person is allowed.
You must be 13 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
The contest is open to all residents of the United States, with the exceptions of employees of Healthline Networks, its advertising and promotional agencies and their respective affiliates and associates and such employees' immediate family members.
The contest begins on December 21st, 2015 and ends on January 21st, 2016 at 11:59 P.M.
Entry and Participation
Any person can nominate a blog for entry including blog owners, friends, families and anonymous users. All nominations are anonymous. Both individual health bloggers and blogs owned and operated by more than one person can participate. Blogs that are nominated are encouraged to promote their nomination using badges, but this is not required for entry.
All nominations are reviewed by Healthline staff and are subject to approval. All entries must be written in English.
All votes must be cast on Twitter or Facebook. Votes cast on Twitter must include both the @reply tag "@healthline" and the hashtag "#besthealthblog". If you're unsure what an @reply is, please see the Twitter help forum @reply article. Similarly, if you are not sure what hashtags are or how they work, please see the hashtag article.
Entrants may not enter with multiple Twitter or Facebook accounts and/or multiple identities. Any entrant who attempts to participate/vote with multiple Twitter or Facebook accounts and/or multiple identities will be disqualified. All votes must be cast from US based Facebook and Twitter accounts. Voters will be disqualified for any suspicious voting activity. Suspicious voting activity includes, but is not limited to: multiple votes from Twitter / Facebook accounts that do not include a photo of the account owner, voting from accounts that have 10 followers or less, or any type of voting that appears to be purchased. No automatic, programmed, robotic or similar means of voting are permitted.
Healthline reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to delete or ban a blog from entry at any time at during the contest period for suspicious activity, without explanation. In addition, Healthline reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend voting should any virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the voting process. All decisions regarding the voting process shall be final and shall not be subject to challenge or appeal.
Healthline is not responsible for technical, hardware, software, telephone or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, the Site, Internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of voting information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one's ability to vote, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer or mobile device relating to or resulting from participating in the voting or downloading any materials. Healthline is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, technically corrupted or misdirected votes, which will be disqualified.
Users can vote once per every 24-hour period for each blog. Users can vote for more than one blog every 24-hour period.
The blog with the most votes at 11:59 P.M. on January 21st, 2016 will be voted the winner. In case of a tie, the award will be split between the winners. Winners will be notified. The names of the winners will also be posted on the Healthline.com website at http://www.healthline.com/health/best-health-blogs-contest and https://twitter.com/Healthline .
Our Use of Content
Healthline reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
Nominees and winners further grant to Healthline the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
Three (3) cash prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The first place winner will receive $1000, the second place winner will receive $100 and third place will receive $50. Winners will be contacted via the email account or form on their blog on or before January 29th, 2016. In order to claim the prize, winners must respond via email to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than February 5th, 2016. Responses must include full name, email address, and location. Prizes will be awarded by February 19th, 2016. Failure to respond according to these stipulations shall mean that the winner forfeits the prize.
Neither Healthline Networks nor its employees may be held liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of any winners of a prize once possession has been taken of the product by a winner. Healthline Networks is not liable for any loss arising out of, in connection with or resulting from any contest promoted by Healthline Networks.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
