Ingredients

  • 1 cup white wine (this can be substituted by milk for children)
  • 2 eggs
  • 12 slices of bread (the drier, the better)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Step by Step:

  1. Pour the wine into a bowl and dunk the bread slices in it quickly. Place on a plate and set aside.
  2. Beat the eggs in another bowl and dunk the bread slices in the egg, turning them over to make sure they're well-coated.
  3. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat until it's very hot. Fry the bread slices for about 1minute on each side until browned and crunchy. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar while they're still hot.
