I am always looking for foods that actually satisfy me and keep me full for a longer period of time. Sugar and white flour taste great but don't do much for lasting energy and satisfaction. They are used up as quickly as they enter my body. I hate being hungry so I am motivated to eat things that don't leave me cranky and crashing a half hour later.
The key is fiber and protein. Fiber is literally indigestible so it keeps you full while the body tries to digest it. Eventually it gives up and it creates bulk in your stool. Protein is also slow to digest, so it gives you more lasting energy and prevents you from getting hungry quickly.
