For years now, the key phrase for keeping weight off and
keeping you fuller longer has been simply, “Eat more fiber.” According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, you
should be getting 25 to 30g of fiber in your diet daily. So, the question many
struggle with is “how do I do that!?” especially since the average American
consumes less than half of the amount of fiber needed per day.
Well, I’ve got some good news for you! Gnu Foods, established in 2004, makes the most delicious all-natural fiber-packed bars. I still do not understand how they fit 12 grams of fiber into a cute little 140-calorie bar while maintaining great taste, but somehow they do! Almost all of the Gnu flavor and fiber bars are vegan and kosher as well.
This morning, I had a Gnu bar in their Blondie flavor and was blown away at the taste. I was nervous at first because most products I try with lots of fiber are usually lacking in taste or leave me with that awful bloated feeling, but here I am 3 hours later with no bloating or the impulse to sprint to the restroom. Gnu bars come in a variety of flavors (like new flavors Blueberry Cobbler and Carrot Cake) and are available online or at the following locations near you:
These bars are great for anyone with a busy schedule wanting to meet half of their daily fiber requirement with ease. Have one with breakfast or as a snack, or even that awkward time before a late dinner with friends when you feel like you’re starving. We’ve all been there! Be sure to drink plenty of water with each bar to keep everything moving smoothly because incorporating more fiber into your diet, especially when you aren’t used to getting much, can quickly lead to constipation. My only reservation about these amazing bars is to warn you that they are addictive! But hey, what better addiction to have than something that not only tastes great but is good for you!?
