Ok, I know I am really on a "going green" kick now, but there are just all of these fabulous books out so recently! Check out my previous blogs on
Go Green Get Lean and
The Green Pregnancy Diet if you missed them.
The latest of my loves is
Big Green Cookbook by
Jackie Newgent, RD. I love this book because it is written by a
Registered Dietitian and it contains so many tasty recipes!
This book is more than just a cookbook, though. It has practical tips and intriguing facts to add to the recipe's green appeal. Her goal is for you to slow climate change with your spoon, fork, and knife! I can't think of a better way, Jackie!
Here are Jackie's main tips for cooking green:
- Prepare plant-based meals
- Be an energy-wise cook
- Eat by season
- Enjoy fresh foods naturally and simply prepared
- Go organic and eco-conscious when you can
- Buy locally when logical
- Practice the 4 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle
- Be realistic
- HAVE FUN while cooking!

Big Green Cookbook and let me know what you think!
