Val Jones

Val Jones, MD

Val Jones, M.D., is the CEO of Better Health, LLC, a medical blogger network and consulting company. She is a board certified, physical medicine, and rehabilitation physician, licensed in six states, and part of a primary care practice based in Vienna, Virginia. She also serves as a medical expert for eDocAmerica, providing telemedical health information to Medicaid patients in Arkansas. Most recently she was the Senior Medical Director of Revolution Health, a consumer health portal with over 120 million page views per month in its network.

Dr. Jones is the author of the popular blog, "Dr. Val And The Voice Of Reason", which won The Best New Medical Blog award in 2007 and was a finalist in the health policy and ethics category for her "Better Health Blog" in 2008. She was a regular contributor to the Journal of the American Medical Association's medical student section and winner of their John Connolly medical ethics essay contest. She is passionate about preventive medicine, nutrition, and exercise and is the "Mind Coach" for the Boys & Girls Clubs' annual Fit Family Challenge. Dr. Jones is the host of an ongoing podcast and radio show about eye health (called "Healthy Vision with Dr. Val Jones") featured on Blog Talk Radio and iTunes. 

Dr. Jones is a contributor to USA Today, a frequently featured speaker at medical conferences, and an occasional medical expert for CNN Headline News. She has been a guest on over 20 different radio shows, and has been featured on CBS and ABC News. She is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and lives with her fiancé at Sullivan's Island, South Carolina.
