Megan Fendt, MS, RD, CDN, CDE
Megan is a Registered Dietitian, Certified
Dietitian-Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator at the Gerald J.
Friedman Diabetes Institute at Beth Israel Hospital in New York. She
specializes in providing nutritional counseling and self-care education to
adults and children living with diabetes. Megan thinks nutritional
consultations shouldn’t be a bore; if you don’t laugh at least once during your
visit, she hasn’t done her job well!
Megan is a frequent speaker for professional continuing education programs as well as support groups, athletic training groups and community groups. Megan has used her expertise to serve as a nutrition expert for multiple news outlets, including Eyewitness News, CBS, Fox, AOL Health, the Daily News and multiple other print and online media.
Megan is a born and bred New Yorker, even though her accent makes it seem like she grew up in the Midwest (she's still trying to figure out how that happened). While not at work helping people learn to live full and happy lives with diabetes, Megan enjoys playing Sudoku, practicing yoga, running and biking; she ran her first two half marathons this past year and participated in the TD Five-Boro Bike Tour and American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure. Her other passion is, of course, cooking; ask her about her favorite dish, vegetarian lasagna!
