- digoxin\n-estramustine\n-ethotoin\n-phenytoin\n-some antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, doxycycline, levofloxacin, tetracycline\n-strontium-89 chloride\n-thyroid hormones
How to Use polycarbophil
Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water. Chew it completely before swallowing. Follow the directions on the package label. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.\n\nTalk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. While this drug may be prescribed for children as young as 6 years old for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:\n-change in bowel habits for more than 14 days\n-blocked intestines or bowel\n-high levels of calcium in your blood\n-kidney disease\n-phenylketonuria\n-stomach pain, nausea or vomiting\n-trouble swallowing\n-an unusual or allergic reaction to polycarbophil, soy, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives\n-pregnant or trying to get pregnant\n-breast-feeding
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
This medicine can take up to 3 days to work. Check with your doctor or health care professional if your symptoms do not get better or if they get worse. See your doctor if you have to treat your constipation for more than 1 week.\n\nAvoid taking other medicines within 2 hours of taking this medicine.\n\nDrink several glasses of water a day while you are taking this medicine. This will help to relieve constipation and prevent dehydration.
Keep out of the reach of children.\n\nStore at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Protect from moisture. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
