How to Use mesna
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. For best results take this medicine at the exact times that your doctor tells you to. If you need to you may split tablets in half to get the right dose. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.\n\nTalk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:\n-autoimmune disease like lupus, nephritis, or rheumatoid arthritis\n-uncontrolled nausea and vomiting\n-an unusual or allergic reaction to mesna, sulfur medicines, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives\n-pregnant or trying to get pregnant\n-breast-feeding
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can and call your doctor. Do not take double or extra doses.
Your doctor will follow your condition closely while you are taking this medicine. Tell your doctor right away if you see that your urine has turned a pink or red color.\n\nIt is important to drink at least a quart (4 cups) of fluids each day that you take this medicine.\n\nIf you vomit within 2 hours of taking this medicine, tell your doctor right away.
Keep out of the reach of children.\n\nStore at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
