Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications:\n-fenofibrate\n-gemfibrozil\n\nThis medicine may also interact with the following medications:\n-antacids\n-cyclosporine\n-herbal medicines like red yeast rice\n-other medicines to lower cholesterol or triglycerides
How to Use ezetimibe
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. This medicine can be taken with or without food. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.\n\nTalk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:\n-liver disease\n-an unusual or allergic reaction to ezetimibe, medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives\n-pregnant or trying to get pregnant\n-breast-feeding
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
Visit your doctor or health care professional for regular checks on your progress. You will need to have your cholesterol levels checked. If you are also taking some other cholesterol medicines, you will also need to have tests to make sure your liver is working properly.\n\nTell your doctor or health care professional if you get any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if you also have a fever and tiredness.\n\nYou need to follow a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet while you are taking this medicine. This will decrease your risk of getting heart and blood vessel disease. Exercising and avoiding alcohol and smoking can also help. Ask your doctor or dietician for advice.
Keep out of the reach of children.\n\nStore at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Protect from moisture. Keep container tightly closed. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
